2023 Summer Reading Program Schedule of Events
Monday, June 5 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM- Summer Reading Begins, so stop in the library to register to participate. The first 100 children to register will be able to “adopt a duck” and all who register can make a flower to decorate the library.
Monday, June 12 at 2:00 PM- Talewise: The Sword and the Stone- Kick off Summer Reading with us with this storytellers program.
Wednesday, June 14 at 6:00 PM- Meet the Helpers- Meet and interact with our local heroes. Learn about their services and see their vehicles up close. Stay to enjoy a picnic at the pergola.
Thursday, June 15 at 5:30 PM- Grief 101 presented by Hospice of the Valley- An informational session on how to handle grief and the resources available to you.
Tuesday, June 27 at 6:00 PM- Backyard Birds with Jason Short- Learn about birdwatching and identifying the birds in your backyard.

Each program will feature a special guest. Attendees will receive a ticket
to enter in the summer reading prize drawing and there will be other surprises in store!

Kids will discover new things about animals and other subjects through this program provided by PBS Western Reserve.
Wednesday, July 5 at 2:00 PM- We Honor Veterans presented by Hospice of the Valley- Veterans that register for this program will be honored with a pin and a certificate. The community and families are welcome to attend to honor those that have served our country. Register by Monday, June 26.
Monday, July 10 at 6:00 PM- Seasonal Eating at the Pergola presented by Mercy Health- Jessica Romeo from Mercy Health will present a seasonal food demo under the pergola. Registration is required.
Monday, July 17 at 6:00 PM- Drag Racing Showcase with Aaron Allison- Come learn about drag racing with an East Palestine local and see the cars up close.
Tuesday, August 1 at 6:00 PM- Mocktails and Masterpieces- Come follow along with us and create your own masterpiece with step by step instructions and enjoy a refreshing mocktail. For ages 18+. Registration is required, space is limited.
Wednesday, August 2 at 2:00 PM- All Together Now Magic Show with Professor Steve- Celebrate the end of Summer Reading with a magic show for all ages!
Thursday, August 17 at 7:30 PM- Movie Under the Stars- Enjoy a movie on the library lawn. Bring your own chairs, blankets, and snacks.
To participate in the 2023 Summer Program, pick up a Summer Alphabet Scavenger Hunt card at the library.
Complete 13 of the activities on the sheet and mark them off as you complete them. Each time you complete a card, you can earn 3 tickets to enter into the grand prize drawing and a small prize from the prize basket. You may complete as many Scavenger Hunt cards as you wish.
All ages are invited to participate.
One Grand Prize Per Person
Summer Alphabet Scavenger Hunt cards must be turned in by Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
