The Joanie Abdu Mobile Mammography Unit is visiting the East Palestine Memorial Public Library on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The first mobile unit in eastern Ohio to offer 3D mammography, this advanced technology enables women to have state-of-the-art screening mammograms in the convenience of their own community. 3D Mammography exams are clinically proven to detect 41 percent more invasive breast cancers. The mobile unit also offers radiation-free bone density screenings that can identify a patient’s risk of developing osteoporosis and assessing their risk of future fracture.
Mammograms are covered by most health plans. For best coverage, please verify Mercy Health/St. Elizabeth’s and the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center are in-network providers by calling your insurance carrier.
You may be eligible for financial assistance under the Joanie’s Promise Program if you do not have insurance or have a high deductible.
You must be age 40 or older to preregister. Beginning at age 40, women should have a yearly mammogram. For more information, please call the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center at 330-480-2654.
